Nordstrom Designer Collections

Nordstrom launched the Designer Collections on their website in January 2006. [press release]. I worked primarily as the Information Architect on this project. This was a very extensive cross-channel project that involved the web team, store operations, the in-store Designer Collections team and the support team.

I worked closely with the Project Manager and Flash Designer to ensure this stand-alone website blended seamlessly into the parent Nordstrom.com website. Reuben Toledo created drawings for the site that matched the Nordstrom Catalog and seasonal promotions.

I was also heavily involved with setting up processes for a select group of Support Specialists, who were trained on Designer customers by the Designer Collections Sales Associates. For Phase 1, these Support Specialists took all orders from the Designer Site via a designated phone number we created.

In addition, this project also required that we temporarily create a new physical store in the basement of the flagship store. Worked with both Operations, Inventory and POS system teams to get this new store up and running.
